Why is President Bush not getting enough credit for doing many things right–e.g.keeping us safe at home?
I am tired of hearing people how he has screwed up the country–hey talk to an Indian or a East European who cowers each time they go through a parking lot–don’t know which car will blow up.
As to economy–remember there are so many more home owners today, so what if a few defaulted.
As to Iraq–Middle east muslim nutbags are afraid to attack America because of Bush. They know what happened after 9/11–their lovely leader Osama is now eating dirt!
Of course Bush did not do everything right. He should have put in regulations on banks and non-banks. He should not have been lulled into thinking he had won Iraq war–but most of what he sought, he accomplished. A true man of conviction, he did not raise taxes, went after America’s enemies with a vengence and was not afraid of following his convictions.
See if you really put your thinking cap on, you will admire George Bush. But if you are a mindless slogan reader, you will be totally one sided and see no good side of him.

Great question !! GWB was a strong man who did not give in under the pressure of the liberal media who were hell bent on destroying him. They were out to get him, and with their vile tactics they caused his ratings to go down. The Democratic controlled Congress this past two years also crucified him, blocked his every move. He is a good man, an honest man, and he did what he thought was right. The media and the Democrats play dirty, plain enough to see.
Because he never thoroughly convinced us a real, imminent threat ever existed.
There is NO WAY I’ll ever admire George W. Bush. His ONLY contributions to society- are his huge list of infamous "quotables!"

Killing a lot of people in unstable parts of the world when they were never a threat to you is not a way of making your country safe.

Thank you for your question! I completely agree with you. No one is perfect, and no one should be expected to be perfect. A lot of what he did was backed by the majority of people at the time that he did it (the war on terror comes to mind, remember how everyone felt after 9/11?) Sure he made mistakes, but not all of our nation’s problems can be blamed on him. I don’t think he is at fault for what happened with the economy at all.
I think that time will tell how he will be remembered, but I will always remember him as a man who said what he believed and was willing to act for it.
Unfortunately, there are people out there who will only look at the negative. Perhaps it makes them feel better about themselves. Also, Hoover got blamed for the Great Depression even though it wasn’t his fault at all, so I wouldn’t be surprised if history continued to perpetuate that kind of nonsense that everything can be blamed on one person. I guess everyone needs a scapegoat.
I think Bush is ok. I would invite him and Laura over for a barbeque.

Because of Leader of this Great Country, we are at war with just about every county excluding Canada (and they are too happy with us either…I live about 10 miles from the boarder they the high and Mighty snub your nose at us Canadians laugh at us. Easy for them to do sitting on our boarder)
The day he was elected my Father said to me we will be at war within the year. HELL WE ARE AT WAR WITH THE WORLD. WE are at the point of a CIVAL WAR. My Dad died last year, now this mess is ours.

I sit and watch the world on TV. I can’t afford to see the it. It is out of reach for me. I have become the working poor. I see the money that is taxed (my money) by my government support EVERYONE but me!
We call ourselves the Children (and Grandchildren)of the Greatest Generation. My grandfather worked in a steel plant. Worked with hazardous radioactive materials. Busted his ass to make a good decent wage to support his family. Last year at 92 he died heartbroken, his plant closed, his pension was a good one, but he lost his health insurance. He was forced to, ashamed to and scared to rely on Medicaid At 92 I think he deserved better. Why was this allowed to happen? because our government allowed it. Shame on it/them.
He passed on this work ethic to my father, who in turned passed it on to me. I am a proud American willing to work, willing to do what is necessary to make this generation one our children can be proud of.
It is time for this Government to bring back the jobs. Walmart and wages like it won’t help the economy to grow.
It is time to wake up. The Government should be ashamed to see the plight of the working poor. The Country as it stands now is in poor shape.
