Products that are made "green" are excellent. Make sure you use the vacuum a lot! Also if you can get an air cleaner which helps with allergens it would be great. Method products are good. I have used them.
Hope this helps.
It all depends on what exactly she is allergic to. 2 of my 3 kids suffer from allergies, and I keep a contstant supply of lysol and clorox wipes. I try to make sure that I empty the vaccuum container before I vaccumm their rooms so nothing from other rooms gets stirred up in there, and I was their blankets often, so that any allergens that may have come home on them won’t cause a problem. Unfortunately, many allergies will just have to be dealth with because even the cleanest home isn’t going to be 100% allergy free. One other thing I can suggest is that if you are a smoker, try to do it outside or not when the daycare kids are there, and wash your curtains often, and use febreeze or something similar to keep the smoke smell out. If a child is allergic to smoke, sometimes even the smell of it can flare up their allergies (I’m not preaching, I am a smoker myself). Good luck, and I hope I was able to help.
Well Maybe it might be easier to designate one room for your child care, though if you don’t have those means, I would just be sure to vaccuum daily after the kids go home, and dust before, vaccuming. Find out the things that she is allergic to and make sure that nothing of that nature is in the home. If you have pets you may want to consider keeping them out of the rooms that are used in your childcare. They sell filters for homes that is something that will also help.
The best thing to do is to get a list of exactly what she’s allergic to and ask the parents for guidance on how you can help. But some pointers from a parent of kids with food/ medicine/ and environmental allergies (plus I have environmental allergies myself):
Get a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and make sure you dust and vacuum really often if she has dust/ dust mite allergies.
If there’s any chance you have mold, get rid of it (watch for damp places in basements, etc.).
If she has food allergies, make sure you thoroughly clean the table and the surfaces where you’re preparing food before making anything for her, and never let a food she’s allergic to touch any dish or utensil or that she’s going to be using unless it’s thoroughly washed first. Always read all ingredients on any kind of pre-packaged food, because allergens show up in foods you wouldn’t expect. Don’t assume because something doesn’t taste like peanut, for example, that it doesn’t have peanut ingredients (which can be in everything from bread to chili to pizza sauce to jellybeans, etc.).
If she’s allergic to pollens or grasses that are currently in season, depending on the severity of the allergy and the time of year you may want to keep windows closed, keep her indoors, or at least wash her hands thoroughly and possibly change her clothes when she comes back inside.
