How do I keep my dog safe while I’m not home?
I have a 1 year and 3 month old dog.
When I got him from the shelter he was very sick.
Since then he has had other health issues.
The lastest being his stomach swelled and he was vomiting his stomach lining. When I went to work after taking him to the vets my ex bf mother let him outside unattended which was against both the vets and my wishes.
I work full time and my ex bf mother watches him for me.
However she has been going against my wishes, feeding him bananas and some acetic fruit.
Just the other week she put seasoning salt on his food. Saying it would stop him from eating his poop. ( which he hasn’t done for months now.)
That night his stomach started to swell again, and he was upset all night, I couldn’t go to sleep in case I had to rush him to the vets.
Also she has 5 archers and an invisible fence, which I don’t mind, however when I’m on my way home I have told her to keep him in the house since he likes to run to my car, I have almost hit him several times because he hides behind the bushes.
I like having her watch him however I’m afraid something is going to happen to him. Is there a nice way to tell her shes pissing me off?

You LIKE having her watch him?! Sounds like she’s trying to kill him and she is unwilling to do anything you ask.
You need to find a responsible person or doggie day care for your pup, or else come home one day to a dead dog.
She has proven that you can’t trust her to do what you ask – say "thanks" but give her the boot and find someone else!
First thing I would do is to stop letting her watch him. Try to find a doggie day care or a friend who will follow you and your vets wishes to watch him. She could be causing him more harm than good. Good Luck!
She’s irresponsible and shouldn’t be taking care of your dog!!!
Find someone else to take care of your dog that’s sensitive to his needs. She’s making him sicker than he already is!
If she can’t or won’t comply with what you ask, then you’ll need to find someone else to watch your dog. It may be a financial savings for you, if you don’t have to pay her or pay her very little–but it’s going to cost you in vet bills if she keeps doing this. Not to mention it’s costing your dog his health.

I would take him to a doggy day care or someone who can actually take care of him and is responsible while you r gone
DON’T have her watch him anymore; obviously she doesn’t care about the dogs health and is going against your wishes and the vets. I would check for a doggy day care in your area or see if there is someone else you can trust to watch him. Otherwise you can check with your vet as well for references.
