Ask the vet about the fumigating and the pets.........to get rid of the roaches, go to the local drug store and buy some boric acid.......it can be found in the 1st aid department and comes in crystals form.....similar to salt. Take some screw on drink lids, like pepsi or coke, wash and dry them completely. Fill the lids with the boric acid crystals and set them in your cabinets, closets, where ever you have roaches......OUT of reach of your pets!!! This will kill the roaches, but they will also carry it back to the nest and kill them all. I know this works, I have tried it!!!

Ask your vet what the safest bug bomb is. A lot of vets will even sell the pet-safe versions or can at least recommend one. I had to do flea bombs and I purchased mine through my vet.

If you live in a duplex, apartment, or some kind of attached housing... it won't matter how clean you are if your neighbors aren't!

Firstly roaches and dirt have nothing to do with each other. They are demons to get rid of. Don't worry about that.

You are right to be concerned. Although the air might be ok after a day, there will be chemical on everything in the house. There are other methods of getting rid of roaches. Have you asked about the paste that gets put into corners and other places animals and small children cannot get to? Not sure of your situation so you'd have to ask the exterminator.

Please Don't let your dog in until the next day. Dogs have more senors then humans. They are prone to get sick faster.
