"These two entities, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not facing any kind of financial crisis," Boehner said. He added, "The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

I am personally appalled by this blatant ignorance and think he should resign. Does anyone else agree with me?

Or did Dems support that since they have gotten a ton of donations from former Clinton employees who got rich at Fannie Mae?

- Franklin Raines – CEO – MIL

The Dems are just looking out for the poor. Right?

I want to become a landlord and im only 22. I dont know what exactly you have to do or any skills you would need to become one. If their is any landlords out their please let me know

I am working on raising my credit score i know it is bad and i have many things on my report that look horrible some very old 5 years or more i am working on the small stuff first if i don’t get all my old debts paid by june of next year when i want to apply for a loan can i still be approved or not? how long would it take to fix it well enough to be offered a mortgage loan
just so everyone knows i go into this with my eyes wide open. i already rent a3 bdrm house for 00 so i know i could buy a house for less than that. most of my bad debt comes from at least two years ago. just trying to catch up now that my husband is done with school
i also pay all heating elec. water and do alot of my own repairs because it would be the second coming before my landlord got to it.

I’m a male single parent that works evening hours & not enough time to spend @ home. I would like to know how can I get out of this rut? I am in need of ,000.00 to start a home bussiness in buying rebuildable cars to make extra money or to buy fixer upper homes then flip them I am yearning for help or investor that believes in me and my cause to succeed. I’m a very honest and trust worthy person. Unfortunately with previous bad credit and with obligations to my children it seems that my enterpeneur endeavors are becoming harder since I am turning 48 years of age this month. I am from a latin decent with knowledge both english and spanish and it seem that to no avail I’m turned down for small loans any ideas any one? I will be very will to share the profits.

I’m curoius to know much people understand this bailout crisis. Why are we "having" to bail out Freddie Mac / Fannie Mae? Yes, I know, it keeps the "credit flowing", but it’s heard often enough already that unless Congress bails them out, people will lose homes. Explain how.
Thanks, Christopher B, very good.

Earlier this week I saw one of the kids at her school sitting up at the front office (that’s where the kids go if they are waiting to be picked up by a parent for some reason) who’s eyes were all red and puffy, he said they itched. My guess is pink eye, but Im not sure. Anyways, today my daughter woke up and one of her eyes is all red and she says it itches…should I keep her home to be safe or send her and risk it?

insurance companies accept all people regardless of preconditions?
just like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac accepted all people regardless of credit or job history to get a loan for a new house…

Did the N.Y. TImes have it right since 1999? Open link below and read for yourself…

Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

I am a 24 year old married father of two. In my early legal years, I had a problem with my credit, but I’ve paid almost all of them off in the past few years.

I do not have any credit cards, and I never really paid much attention to my credit since paying off the problems- and did not think much about it. I do keep up on my credit report- but I never knew my credit score.

However, I’m looking into buying a new car, and in a year or two buying a house. I applied for a car loan at a dealership where they told me my credit is around 350! I never knew it could be this terrible. My wife has no credit at all, so that did not help matters.

Now, we’re attempting to fix our credit. We know nothing about this, and it’s very difficult. We do not not have any current debt, and live modestly. We cannot afford much as we are trying to save up, but we really want good, or at least decent credit.

I would love for us to be able to fix both my credit, and establish some sort of credit for my wife.

We’ve heard credit cards, or even store credit cards will help, but know nothing about APRs or what would be best. We have also heard about going to a ‘buy here, pay here’ car sales place that reports to the credit bureau, but again we only know bits and pieces. We also know a co-signer would help, but we do not have anyone so it is out of the question.

Any advice on any parts of these topic would be greatly appreciated. Please no harsh comments, as I know it is a terrible thing- but I am attempting to fix it for my family’s sake.

Is buying stock from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac lawful in Islam/halal?
Your response to the question being absurd does not answer the question. All that is needed is a yes or a no and your reasoning to your answer.

How long is it safe to actually keep a regular home hair dryer running? Will the coils inside burn out if you keep it on too long?

I just recently purchased my first home, a townhouse. I borrowed k from my 401k to help pay for the closing costs. My concern is this: what are some of the common problems with buying a rental property, once my 401k is paid back? My goal is to have a second property so I can have the tax break from TWO properties. OR, should I take any extra money I get next year and put it towards paying down my second loan (the 20% loan I took out to help avoid paying PMI)?

I’m looking mostly for people who know stuff about this but anyone feel free to weigh in. Thanks a bunch!

I see that they are both listed on the NYSE, but I keep reading that they are private companies (or at least prior to a few weeks ago). Since they are said to be private companies, does this mean they can still be listed on the NYSE but only certain people can trade them.

I live in a 2 story house in Northern Virginia. What can I do to protect my family in the event of a Tornado?

My husband and I are about to buy our first home and have heard of two great success stories with a Fannie Mae loan. What is involved in getting this loan? How much does it actually help? Thanks!!

I’m buying a rental property in Nashville, Tennessee. I live in New York and I would like to form an LLC soon. Should I form an LLC in New York or Tennessee?

As the chief financial officer of Freddie Mac he was privileged to see things that no one else would ever see. I believe he saw enough to know that the whole thing is a disaster and that their is bad business being conducted by the likes of Barney Frank who basically screwed us all over the past two and a half years.

I hope he left a note and in fact, sent it to someone you can trust like Fox News.

I see a bunch of conflicting stories about it, and am interested in what is going to occur with the common stock.
Anyone have an up-to-date source with current data on the situation?
